- Avoid using any harsh soaps, cleansers, or exfoliants on your lips.
3. Moisturize:
- Apply the provided ointment or a thin layer of a recommended aftercare product (like petroleum jelly or a healing balm) regularly to keep your lips moisturized.
- Do not over-apply; a small amount is sufficient to keep the area hydrated.
4. Avoid Certain Products and Activities:
- Refrain from using makeup, medicated lip balms from pharmacy, or any other products on your lips, unless specified by your technician.
- Avoid swimming, saunas, hot tubs, and excessive sweating for at least 10 days after the procedure.
- Steer clear of spicy, salty, or food and drinks that can irritate your lips.
5. Sun Protection:

- Wearing a hat with a brim can provide additional protection.
6. No Smoking or Alcohol:
- Avoid smoking and consuming alcohol, as these can impede the healing process.
7. Pain and Swelling Management:
- Use a cold compress to reduce swelling if needed. Apply it gently and not directly on the lips.
- Pain and swelling are normal in the first few days. If you experience excessive discomfort, consult with a healthcare professional.
8. Healing Process:
- Expect the color to be more intense initially, but it will soften as the lips heal. In some cases after day 5 lips can appear temporarily patchy, in some areas darker, or lighter, it may take two months for color stabilization.
- The healing process typically takes around 7-10 days for the surface and up to 10 weeks for the full color to stabilize.
9. Follow-Up Appointment:
- Schedule a follow-up appointment in 10 weeks as recommended to assess healing and make any necessary adjustments.
